I live down the street from this place, and everytime I drive by, I kept telling myself I should check it out. I'm so glad I finally did. The service was friendly and attentive. The coffee is good, and one of the two meals I've tried there is fantastic. I'm not going to give a great review based on only one meal, but I did enjoy my experience there.

I eat here almost every day. I always get a very good meal and excellent service. The portions are large and the price is right. I will be going back soon!

I have NEVER written a bad review on YELP! Today, will be my first. We walked in to the restaurant 1/4 full. There was a line to pay. No one greeted us. We sat down and waited for attention. We were finally seated by a server. The "Manager" was at the cash register. She looked, surly, angry and put out. We heard her yell at the waitstaff and kitchen staff repeatedly and loudly during our visit. We overheard, "Come get your money, if you don't want it, I will keep it!" "Apparently now, I have to work all day!" Among many other things and we were far from the kitchen. This "manager" set the tone for all her employees. Everyone looked stressed and unhappy. It would be difficult to be a server and be happy for your customers after being treated with such disrespect! Both our orders were wrong. Our eggs were way overcooked. Our server went back to the kitchen to make corrections. She spoke politely to the kitchen staff and she was promptly yelled at by the cook. This was not a pleasant relaxed breakfast. We left a huge tip for our sever who tried to provide good service despite all odds against her. Even if we had excellent food (which we did not), we would never return because the management treated her staff so badly!

I've been here several times since they've gone smoke-free, and I am liking them better these days. The service is always attentive and polite, even when I'm there with a big group. And their coffee is pretty good, even the decaf. Love this place for breakfast/brunch. Every egg dish I've had here has been good.

My wife and I went there last night for a quick pre-movie dinner. She had greek salad & fries, I had caesar salad and chili. Both salads were good--crisp, fresh vegetables. My caesar dressing was a little on the bland side; the greek had plenty of zing. My wifes fries were excellent. The chili was good: spicy but not overwhelming, good tomato flavor, meaty but not a solid beef puck. I've had better, but this was quite respectable. Other diners' meals looked good--this place is an excuse for another movie night soon.

The food at the classic cup is not amazing, but it's yummy. I like this place perhaps for the memories of meeting a good friend for breakfast there regularly, its that kind of place that you go to regardless of the fact you can get better food elsewhere. The service is usually very good and efficient and I don't have to beg for coffee here, which I appreciate. The atmosphere is nicer than your average diner. I especially like their coffee cups, and also the coffee served in them. I've had the pancakes, eggs, bacon, hash, a scramble and a burger and the french toast here. I wouldn't write home about any of it, and I probably wouldn't get the french toast again, but the place is affordable and serves its purpose well.

Been there many times and always had a very good meal. Nice size servings, quick efficient service, and a good selection. Excellent soup or chili and salads. Beer and wine - not a full bar. Less expensive than downtown A2 for sure.

This morning's breakfast was a huge disappointment. It took them the better part of an hour to make 1 pancake, some bacon, 2 scrambled eggs, some toast, and corned beef hash. Oh, and the corned beef hash tasted like canned dog food, because it was, in fact, from a can. When I voiced my displeasure to the waitress, she asked if I would like something else (like hashbrowns) instead, but by that point, I had no desire to wait even longer for breakfast, so I just ate a few bites of the salty, greasy mess that was on my plate. No refund or discount was offered, and the manager (I assume, she was running the register) didn't seem to care when I mentioned this to her, either. In short, if a restaurant can't manage to get basic diner food correct, in a timely fashion, they aren't worth my repeat business. I could forgive the canned dog food/corned beef hash if it arrived quickly, and I would have been OK with the wait if it was made properly, but I got neither. Considering the number of great breakfast spots nearby that offer superior food and service, I won't be returning to Classic Cup Cafe, nor will anyone I know, if I have anything to say about it.

Being from Brooklyn, I'm used to good breakfast... or maybe that's any city? I don't know. I just know that while I'm not a regular breakfast eater, sometimes I need a good breakfast, usually on a Saturday morning after a good night out on the town. Classic Cup Cafe fits the bill. Even when there's a crowd we're usually seated quickly and the sercive is excellent. I've had a ton of things off the breakfast menu, as had my partner in crime and I've always been extremely happy. There was one unfortunate incident that led to the deduction of a star, but considering we've only had one bad experience after being there tons of times, that's great. What probably puts Classic Cup ahead of the game is the fact that you can tell those who work there truly care about the business and service. That's great. At some point we'll venture out for something non-breakfast related. Maybe.

Still busy here, but they've had a change of cook or else the standard of food overall is slipping. The Clam Chowder, always a strong point on Friday's menu, tasted like any other generic chowder served up in Ann Arbor: top-heavy on potatoes, way too floury and barely a clam in sight. The old creaminess is gone. It's still acceptable but no more so than a can of Progresso gussied up with some cream. The Ribs aren't as tasty or well-cooked as they used to be, either. So it will be a while before I head out to Jackson Rd. again. 2.5 stars.

We frequent this restaurant a lot since it's near the house. The food is pretty good, I recommend the omelets and pancakes, but not the eggs Benedict. Service is typically good-you are greeted right away and taken to a table. The waitstaff is nice as well.

Ate there last night with several friends. Waitress was slow and forgetful. One person ordered rare meat it came looking light brown all through no pink at all. Two of us got ribs, cold in the middle. We won't be back.

The menu on the cafe's website ( classiccupcafe.com/menu ) contains no information other than the broad categories of things that are offered. This does not suggest to me that this business makes much of an effort.

We work not too far from this place and we try to go every week or two since we love the cooking and service. It's an older crowd but it just feels like your grandma's home cooking. My husband is in love with the Lucile Ball Lasagna and I just love their breakfast. It's inexpensive and friendly atmosphere.

One star is one too many. Perhaps they were short staffed but I will not return to find out if it gets better - we had reservations. I had a cup of chili that was luke warm at best. My sandwhich came well after everyone else's meal as an afterthought, the rest of my group was nearly done (though their meals were late as well ) IMy sandwich was haphazardly thrown together and far from appetizing. I left it open and uneaten. Perhaps they would notice. Never again.

Today, this restaurant missed out on several criteria. I usually look for a restaurant to have 2 out of 3 of the following characteristics: food quality, speed, or price point. The menu items are the same price as you would find in downtown Ann Arbor. For example, I had the bacon cheeseburger. With the additional 1.50 for fries, this is the same price as Casey's Tavern, which has much better burgers. My burger was dripping with grease, though the meat itself was quite well cooked. We came in at 1:30, which is hardly the height of the lunch rush. It took 30 minutes to get some kids tenders for my 2 year old. I'm not a parent that expects a restaurant to stop for my kid, but I know how long it takes to cook some mediocre Sysko tenders and fries. Service was ok, if slow. I prefer people anticipate needs than have to ask 10,000 questions, but our waitress did a good job. In summary, food is typical fake food from a big supplier that took too long for them to heat up. Too expensive and too slow for mediocre food.

Classic Cup Cafe is a great restaurant for a quick bite to eat. They serve beer and wine and other drinks, which was very surprising for a restaurant like this. Their food is always tasty and prepared quickly. The servers are the nicest servers around and are very knowledgeable of the menu. I have not tried the breakfast here, but it's always busy when I drive by in the mornings. It's usually quiet in the restaurant, so it's a great place to go when you don't want to deal with the hassle of downtown. I love the all you can eat fish and chips they serve on Friday nights. Such a deal!

This little gem of a restaurant started off strong, faultered a few years ago, but now is such a choice place to eat. They are not a coney island. Classic Cup is good for a any meal. Quiet, good service, friendly management/owners that greet you at the door and really good food. If you visit on Thursday, I believe it is Greek night. So good, but my favorite is the Swedish Potato soup. If you try it, you will be hooked! Ground meat, creamy potatoe stock, dill and carrots. Perfect cold-weather food. Try them, you will like them.

Our first and last visit to this place was a couple of weeks ago. Food was sub-par, and we think my son's milkshake was made with sour milk, it was terrible! We will not be going back to this establishment, which is too bad, as it's located very close to where we live.
